Update 5: The Website Revision
Official Release Date: November 5th, 2025
Update 5 is an update that, after months of inactivity, is an effort to return to revise a project I left dormant for several months to better reflect my creativity and desires to upload my creative works. There were various changes I made to make the interface of the website easier to navigate and more visually appealing as well.
One of the first things that I did for this new update was creating a margin space for the main body of the website. One of the major gripes I had with the website was how spread out and wide the main body was, which made reading blogs and the other pages more difficult. To mitigate this, I set a max width of 1100 pixels for the main area and made it somewhat dynamic where the minimum width is 800 pixels. This helps align the user's eyesight to the center of the page instead of forcing you to read all the way from one end of the browser window to the other.
I also proceeded to update the header of the website to give it a relatively more professional look. Instead of being simple links of text, I went through the effort to make them appear as buttons when hovered over, and have a hover effect to give a better indication of which link you're hovering over.
The last major change that was made to the website was resizing the properties of the gallery. While I think the initial implementation works fine for what it was at the beginning, the overall space it took was far too cumbersome and bloated the page. I halved the dimensions of the classes to make the overall gallery more compact and easy to navigate while still providing a solid thumbnail to give a glance of how the pages look as a result of the update.
As of this update, I will work on focusing more on publishing my artwork whenever I have the time and opportunity to do so. I'll still give blog updates about the site's development as necessary, but minor changes will likely be articulated in a single blog covering the timeline of changes made.
Trivia: While the Blimp Fleet website still serves, in part as a portfolio, Update 5 is where I decided to shift directions in what my portfolio would be about.
